  • This is very common in the months after giving birth. Remember that not only are you healing physically, but you are also navigating a whole new world, and learning so much along the way. We’ve purposely created this course so that you can begin to use it during your pregnancy, when many of us have more time to spend preparing and thinking of ourselves. The course will be available to you for up to a year after birth, and all of the information, advice and guided videos will be suitable to use at any stage in the first year, so if you want to dip in and out then it’s easy to do so.

  • Each subject is divided into short, manageable chunks and all of our videos have subtitles so that you can watch them while your little one sleeps or feeds. The education videos can also be listened to through headphones while you are in bed or out for a walk. Each workout or exercise routine is approximately 10-15 minutes long, because we know how unlikely it is that you’ve got much time to yourself right now. You’ll also have access for a whole year, and can complete the course in your own time. The recipe booklet and information pages can be downloaded and used for many years to come.

We also recommend that if possible, you purchase the course during your pregnancy so that you can prepare for your fourth trimester effectively. So many of us spend months making a birth plan, deciding what we need to pack in our hospital bag and arranging pregnancy appointments, but forget that the postpartum period is really important too. With some forward planning, you can set yourself up for an easier transition and put some things in place that will really help you to recover and thrive once your baby has arrived.

  • Your scar can take up to 2 years to reach maturity, so you can influence the way it heals and forms within this time with massage.

If your scar is older than this it’s definitely not too late to massage your scar. Scar issues can still be improved years later. We have had success stories with scars well over 10 years old.

Our C-section Healing and recovery course is designed with this in mind, to support any Mama to treat her scar herself, even if your birth was many years ago.

  • We know from experience how challenging this can be, and it’s a big part of your postpartum recovery. Sleep deprivation can affect you both physically and mentally. Our course includes recipes and nutritional advice that can help you cope with fatigue, as well as short exercise and yoga routines that are designed to help boost your energy and mood so that you can cope better with the demands of life as a new mum.

  • If you sustain a perineal graze, tear or have an episiotomy during birth, the scar can be the cause of pain, discomfort during sex, pelvic floor dysfunction or a feeling of dragging in the area. The tissue can really benefit from some gentle scar massage once it has fully healed. Our programme includes a guided video and education to demonstrate how to treat the scar yourself at home.

  • The common symptoms of a prolapse are:

A heaviness or dragging sensation in your lower tummy, vagina or back passage.

Pain in your vagina or back passage.

A pressure or feeling like you are sitting on something.

Not being able to keep a tampon or menstrual cup in place.

Problems with passing urine. Feeling like you can’t fully empty the bladder, an irregular flow of urine, constantly feeling the urge to go, leaking of urine.

Problems with passing a bowel movement. Feeling like you have to support your perineum when passing a bowel movement, recurrent constipation, recurrent loose stools, not being able to control wind.

Pain, discomfort or numbness during sex.

Seeing a bulge or tissue at the entrance to your vagina.

It is also possible to have a mild prolapse without symptoms. We recommend seeing a pelvic health physiotherapist for a pelvic assessment if you are concerned about a prolapse. It’s important to remember it is common after pregnancy and birth, and there are lots of conservative management options that enable women to live a full life without problems if it is managed correctly. Our course covers further information about prolapse and a guided video of exercises which can help.
